Elk Island National Park
On January 25, 2013 I visited Elk Island National Park. This park is located about 45 minutes from Downtown Edmonton, Alberta Canada. This National park is completely enclosed in a fence and is roughly an area of 75 square miles. Elk Island National Park protects the wilderness of the aspen parkland, one of the most endangered habitats in Canada. This beautiful oasis is home to herds of free roaming plains bison, wood bison, moose, deer, and elk. It also boasts over 250 species of birds.
I had an amazing time on my journey and the first half of my photos represent the southern most remote part of the park. The second have of the photos represent the northern part of the park. It was amazing to be surrounded by such wilderness and majestic animals.
