Moments...

What if I told you to think about the moments that have occurred, for better or worse, that've changed your life forever? Think about each moment, intimately, and reflect on how it affected you. Some moments will be happy, while others will be sad. Life is full of ups and downs, joy and sorrow, and all collectively form who you are.  Now reflect on all times that you created your own moments that changed your life forever? Is this list as big as  life's moments? Maybe, but probably not, we are all in a way at the mercy of life, but we are not powerless. We all carry an inner voice that is more powerful than you can possibly imagine.

Sometimes when I listen at night when the house is quiet, and the world around me sleeps, I hear it calling. I want to answer it, and follow it into the unknown, but life has molded so much for me I feel trapped. Passion floods through me, and I see all the things I want to accomplish behind a glass veil; all I need to do is break through, and everything I hope to do in life will be for the taking. Life though doesn't work this way, everything fades to black, and I am left with nothing more than the humble choice of simply beginning. It all seems so overwhelming and impossible, and I can let my life continue on, occasionally revisiting the same moments over and over. Letting my goals grow as I age sitting behind this glass veil; an inconvenient truth for sure, but one that is true nevertheless. Life has continued, and all I have done is said hello from the other side.

Do I let life continue to interrupt my plans, or do I decide to interrupt life's plans for me?

It all begins with the most humble of beginnings, a single step. I understand how intimidating the unknown and failure can be, but I know that regret is worse. There will be a time, when a realization happens, and that is, there is nothing more temporary over a lifetime than failure. Regret though, that lives with us forever. Remember that a single drop in a vast ocean can have a ripple effect that continues into eternity. All life changing moments start this way, but it is up to us whether or not they grow into something more. The truth is, that the outcome doesn't matter. What truly matters is that we found the courage to make our own path.
