Philosophical Thought of the Day

In writing, you must kill all your darlings.
— William Faulkner

There is nothing more frustrating in writing then a darling that won't die. As a writer and the creator you fight for each individual idea like they were your child. You become blinded by the love for your creation, and refuse to move on until you figure out a way to bring your creation with you. The problem is that one day after countless hours, days, and weeks your darling becomes a bastard that has now derailed your work. Don't let your darlings become bastards; instead kill them early and remember them fondly.
